Eamonn Flynn - Solo Piano

Dublin born pianist, singer, and songwriter Eamonn Flynn is known for his unique blend of Irish music and American jazz and blues. His early career took off when he played piano and Hammond organ on the 14 million-selling soundtrack of The Commitments, about a soul band from Dublin. After moving to San Francisco, Eamonn expanded his repertoire, recording and touring with a diverse array of artists, including Michael Franti & Spearhead, Evelyn 'Champagne' King, Pink, Elvin Bishop, The Family Stone, H.E.R., Valerie Simpson, Zigaboo Modeliste, Los Lobos, Taj Mahal, and Boz Scaggs. His work spans multiple genres, from jazz and blues to Irish folk, he has contributed music to TV/films like Moonlight and Ugly Betty, and he currently plays Gospel piano and organ at San Francisco's legendary Glide Memorial Church. Eamonn has released several albums of original music, showcasing his skills as both a composer and performer. His solo show takes the listener on a journey through the rich piano traditions of American jazz and blues music from Dr. John to Ray Charles while incorporating influences from the Irish folk music he grew up with.

"A fusion of R&B, gospel and Irish music that sounds so natural and obvious it makes you wonder where this music has been all this time," - Keyboard Magazine.
